Barringer owned a window and door company.

He is survived by his children James David Jr. (Regina), Sandra Runae (Tommy Fisher) and Edward Eugene, grandchildren James III (Sarah), Jessica (Kyle McCarty), John, Daniel and Sam Vice (Tosha Hollifield), Edward and Justin Barringer, great-grandchildren Kadence and Kannon McCarty and Zoey Vice, step-grandchildren Dakota and Reghan McCarty, Taylor (McCarty) Oliver and Jaden Hollifield and brother John Edward.

George Swearingen, 69

George James Swearingen, 69, of Georgetown, died June 21 at his residence.

Swearingen was a retired mechanic for Senco, a United States Air Force Vietnam veteran and member of the Carey Bavis American Legion Post 180 of Georgetown.

He is survived by his brother Larry Swearingen, sister Barb Burris, nephew Jamie Swearingen, niece Sherri Carrington and other nieces and nephews, great-nephew Landon Swearingen great-niece Makena Swearingen.

He was preceded in death by his Charles and Mary Swearingen and sisters Dody Welch, Delores Williams and Beverly Arnold.

There will be no services.

He was an instructor at Grant Career Center and Live Oaks Vocational School for many years.

Baker is survived by his wife Hazel, children Mauren (Larry) Heckman, Curt (Jenny) Baker, and Keith (Teresa) Baker, grandchildren Scott, Julie, Jennifer, Laura, Lisa, Susan, Andrew, Carrie and Allison and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Steve Baker and brother Donald Baker.

Rebecca Morrison, 87, of Mt. Orab, died June 25 in Seaman, Oh.

Morrison was the owner/operator of Morrison Auto Parts.

She is survived by her children Jerry (Joy) Morrison, Wanda (James) Hamilton, Betty (Bill) Johnson and Michael (Becky) Morrison, 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, siblings Joyce (Gene) Donahue, Dale (Jewell) Fannin, Dean Fannin and Charlie (Rosalie) Fannin.

She was preceded in death by her husband Junior Morrison, parents Boyd and Ethel Fannin, son Carl Morrison, one grandchild, and siblings Bertha Fannin, Arlene Barrow, Beulah Adkins, Addie Gilliam, Wilma Hamm Partin, Letha Adkins and Lynn Boyd Fannin Jr.

Calvin Cahall, 90

Calvin Cahall, 90, of Georgetown, died June 29 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley.

Cahall was the owner and operator of Cahall Bros., Inc., which was established in 1953 and served as president since 1980.

Before then, he was partner for 25 years along with his brother Perry Cahall.

He was an active and faithful member of the St. George Catholic Church in Georgetown, a United States Army World War II veteran, a member of the Carey Bavis American Legion Post 180, he was a sub carrier for the Georgetown branch of the United States Postal Service from 1953-1974, and served as the director of the Ohio Savings Association (currently known as the First Safety Bank) from 1965-1980.

He received the Drucker Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Brown County Chamber of Commerce. He was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel in 1981 and served as the grand marshal of the Ohio Valley Antique Machinery Association, the Brown County Agricultural Society and the Ohio Tobacco Festival.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank E. and Nelle Blanche Cahall, brother Perry Cahall, sister Mildred Martin and grandson Brian Liebig.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years Ruth Cahall who he married June 3, 1944, children Emerson Cahall, Delores Cahall Liebig, Regina (Larry) Cahall Nelson, Kyle (Maxine) Cahall, Joyce (Denny) Cahall Stanfield, and Roland (Leslie) Cahall, 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and sister Ada Walker and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation 4-8 p.m. July 2 at Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. July 3 at St. George Catholic Church in Georgetown. Interment at Confidence Cemetery with veterans services by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post 180.

Marian T. Hurley, 85, of Monroe Township in Adams County, died June 22 at Adams County Regional Medical Center.

Hurley was a seamstress at the former Attractive Frocks Co., in Cincinnati, a volunteer for a thrift shop in West Union, a gardener at the former Lewis Mountain Herbs and Everlastings in Monroe Township and a clerical aide at Adams County Senior Citizens Center.

She was a member of the Adams County Deforest Amateur Radio Club, she was a 1947 graduate of East Vocational High School in Walnut Hills.

She is survived by her daughters Noreen Ann (Rodger) Highfield, Marian Margaret (Ronald) Daniels, sons Thomas (Twila) Hurley, and John Mark (Debra) Hurley, siblings Shirley Wheeler, Della Eichhorn and Margaret “Sis” Nipper, brothers Adolph “Bud” Meder Jr., and Joseph Meder, six grandchildren, one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Margaret Catherine Meder, husband Thomas Floyd Hurley, sister Rose Wheeler and grandsons Eric Lee and Christopher Paul Hurley.

Visitation 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. services June 27 at Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union. Interment at Manchester Cemetery.

Edna Early Thomas Chandler, 93

Edna Early Thomas Chandler, 93, passed away June 24.

She was the family genealogist before she, or most people, even understood the meaning of the word. She started taking notes as a young girl when she visited with those who had served in the Civil War and World Wars. Her genealogical work, done well before the age of the Internet, was an inspiration to all who knew her and many will enjoy and benefit from her laborious research for generations to come.

She was also first life member of Goshen, Ohio Historical Society and the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of the Crown Charlemagne, The Royal Bruce Society, National Huguenot Society, First Families of Tennessee, National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, Sovereign and Regal Court Colonial Order of the Crown Family of the Bruce Society in America and many more.

She is survived by her sons James Eldon and Larry Wayne Thomas, grandchildren Tracy Thomas Varner, DeAnn Thomas O’Toole, Brenton Thomas and Chalee Thomas Stevens, great-grandchildren Jack, Nicholas, Benjamin and Miah O’Toole, Ty and Grace Stevens and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Everett and Bonnie Early, siblings Claude, Charles Jr., and George Early, her first husband James Eldridge Thomas and second husband Curtis Wade Chandler.

Edna held them all close to her heart as they held hers close to theirs. As much as we loved you we knew you “loved us more.”

Visitation 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. services June 28 at Croley Funeral Home in Williamsburg, Ky. Interment at Davis Addition of Highland Park Cemetery.
